PSALMUS CXXII. PSALM CXXII.
1 Unto thee have I lifted up mine eyes: who dwellest in the heavens.
Ecce sicut óculi servórum,* in mánibus dominórum suórum. 2 Behold as the eyes of servants: are on the hands of their masters;
Sicut óculi ancíllæ in mánibus dóminæ suæ,* ita óculi nostri ad Dóminum Deum nostrum, donec misereátur nostri. 3 As the eyes of the maiden are on the hands of her mistress: even so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy upon us.
Miserére nostri, Dómine, miserére nostri ;* quia multum repléti sumus despectióne. 4 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.
5 Yea, our soul is greatly filled: we are an offence unto the wealthy, and a contempt unto the proud. Glory, &c.
PSALMUS CXXIII. PSALM CXXIII.
NISI quia Dóminus erat in nobis, dicat nunc Israel:* nisi quia Dóminus erat in nobis. 1 Unless the Lord had been with us, now may Israel say: unless the Lord had been with us.
Cum exúrgerent hómines in nos,* forte vivos deglutíssent nos. 2 When men rose up against us: peradventure they had swallowed us up alive.
Cum irascerétur furor eórum in nos,* fórsitan aqua absorbuísset nos. 3 When their fury was enkindled against us: peradventure the waters had swallowed us up.
Torréntem pertransívit ánima nostra :* fórsitan pertransísset ánima nostra aquam intolerábilem. 4 Our soul passed through a torrent: peradventure our soul would have passed through waters insupportable.
5 Blessed be the Lord: who hath not given us over for a prey unto their teeth.
6 Our soul hath been snatched as a sparrow: out of the snare of the fowlers.
Láqueus contrítus est,* et nos liberáti sumus. 7 The snare is broken: and we are delivered.
Adjutórium nostrum in nómine Dómini,* qui fecit cœlum et terram. Glória. 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord: who hath made heaven and earth. Glory, &c.
PSALMUS CXXIV. PSALM CXXIV.
1 They who trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Sion: he shall not be moved for ever that dwelleth in Jerusalem.
2 The hills are round about her: even so is the Lord round about his people, from this time forth for evermore.
3 For the Lord will not leave the rod of sinners upon the lot of the just: that the just stretch not forth their hands to iniquity.
Bénefac, Dómine, bonis,* et rectis corde. 4 Do well, O Lord, to those that are good: and to the right of heart.
5 But such as turn aside unto deceits, the Lord shall number with the workers of iniquity: peace upon Israel.
Glory, &c.
Ant. In odórem unguentórum tuórum cúrrimus; adolescéntulæ dilexérunt te nimis. Ant. We run to the odour of thy ointments: the young maidens have loved thee exceedingly.
Cap. Eccli. xxiv.

ET radicávi in pópulo honorificáto, et in parte Dei mei hæréditas illíus, et in plenitúdine sanctórum deténtio mea.
Chap. Ecclus. xxiv.—And I took root in an honourable people, and in the portion of my God his inheritance: and my abode is in the full assembly of Saints.
℟. Deo grátias. ℟. Thanks be to God.
℟. Post partum Virgo* invioláta permansísti. Post partum. ℟. After childbirth thou remainest a pure Virgin. After, &c.
℣. Dei Génitrix, intercéde pro nobis. Invioláta. Glória. Post partum. ℣. Mother of God, intercede for us. Thou remainest. Glory. After childbirth.
℣. Speciósa facta es, et suavis. ℣. Thou art become beautiful and sweet.
℟. In delíciis tuis, sancta Dei Génitrix. ℟. In thy delights, O holy Mother of God.
Oratio. Prayer.
DEUS, qui virginalem aulam beatæ Mariæ virginis, in qua habitares, eligere dignatus es; da quæsumus, ut sua nos defensione munitos, jucundos suæ facias interesse commemorationi. Qui vivis et regnas, &c. O God, who didst vouchsafe to choose the virginal womb of the blessed Virgin Mary as thy habitation; grant us, we beseech thee, that, fortified by her protection, we may joyfully assist at her commemoration. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
Et cetera, ut supra ad Laudes, p. 35. O Virgin Mary, &c., as at Lauds, p. 35.
