About Manualist Press
Manualist Press is a small Catholic publisher, started in 2025, that puts neglected Catholic books back into print.
The press
We look for Catholic books that were widely read a century ago and have since gone out of print, and we set them again from an identified edition. So far, 16 books, from editions printed between 1865 and 1929.
The name
The name comes from the manuals: the compact, practical books of doctrine, prayer, and moral instruction that Catholic publishers issued in great numbers in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Those are the kind of books we look for.
