Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven, Have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, Have mercy on us.
God the Holy Ghost, Have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, Have mercy on us.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
Saint John, prevented by the grace of God from childhood, pray for us.
Saint John, who wast faithful in little things,
Saint John, who wast the edification of thy companions,
Saint John, who from thy tender infancy didst choose the Blessed Virgin as the guardian of thy virginity,
Pray for us.
Saint John, who didst find thy strength and consolation in the frequent use of the sacraments,
Saint John, mirror of the religious life, both for novices and for those advanced in perfection,
Saint John, who wast always kind and gentle to others,
Saint John, who didst severely chastise thine innocent flesh,
Saint John, who didst desire rather to die a thousand times than to commit the least sin,
Pray for us.
Saint John, who didst sigh after JESUS in Holy Communion,
Saint John, who wert filled with the love of God,
Saint John, who wert full of confidence in thy good Angel and in Saint Joseph,
Saint John, model of Christian strength and prudence,
Saint John, who in the last hour of thy life, didst clasp in thy hands the three dearest objects of thy love: the crucifix, the rosary, and thy holy Rule,
Saint John, model and patron of youth.
Pray for us.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us,
Christ, graciously hear us.

℣. Pray for us, saint John Berchmans.

℟. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Almighty God, who hast established the admirable sanctity of Saint John Thy Confessor, in the perfect observance of religious discipline and in the innocence of his life; grant us by his merits and prayers, grace faithfully to observe Thy commandments, and thus to arrive at purity of soul and body. Through our Lord JESUS CHRIST.
Amen.
